In true Tulum fashion, La Eufemia is located on the Carreterra Tulum-Punta Allen
and can only be found via a small painted sign above a gap in the trees.
Follow this little, winding, sandy path over and under leaning palms and eventually you come to the beach - and Taqueria La Eufemia.
This little place has retained the feel of old Tulum before the luxury boutique hotels arrived. A wooden structure stands on the beach, covering a bar and tables.
Coloured light is cast through old tequila and rum bottles that have been used to construct walls. Cushioned beds, canopies and hammocks line the sugary white sand and look towards the turquoise sea of the Caribbean...it’s hard to spend a day at La Eufemia and not feel utter relaxation.
A popular spot, people often lay towels down when the beds are taken and fresh fish tacos are eaten while sat on the soft sand.
Order a caguama of beer and some of the delish tacos, sit back and enjoy.
